Established in 1953, Hickling & Squires is a B2 sheet fed printing company based in the East Midlands. Our purpose built print unit is set in a rural landscape on the Nottinghamshire Derbyshire border.
We’re one of the UK’s leading commercial printers, recognised for producing high quality litho, digital and large format print. In addition we offer a Web2Print solution which allows clients to place bespoke print orders at their convenience.
We also have a full in-house print finishing service which means we are a complete print solutions provider.
Our motivation comes from delivering exceptional service and high quality print and print finishing.
We aim to provide estimates and proofs with efficiency and speed. We also promise to produce and dispatch all of our printed goods on time… every time.
Quality is important to us so naturally we like to keep things in-house. However, if there’s an element of a job we’re unable to do we’ll let you know upfront, then outsource to one of our trusted partners and manage the process with the same care as we manage our own.
With over 60 years in the business its obvious that we love print and we’re delighted to manufacture quality products for our clients in the public and private sector.
We work with amazing people, and we’re proud to say we’ve been working with some of our clients since the late 70’s, which goes to show we genuinely enjoy building relationships that last.
Hickling & Squires is accredited to ISO 9001, which is the internationally recognised standard for quality, and we operate a management system that continually monitors and manages quality across all of our operations.
We also hold the FSC Chain of Custody certification and have accredition to ISO 14001. Working within the ISO framework we control and continually look for ways to improve our environmental performance.
Ultimately, it’s our knowledge and understanding of print manufacturing that provides you with the edge when quality and consistency is vital. We look for ways to improve the services we offer day to day and we wisely choose which new technologies we invest in.
Our production processes are lean which means operational waste is kept to a minimum. The pre-press workflow is automated and our presses are calibrated to a total colour management system which ensures we maintain print consistency across all of our presses, time after time.
We have 3 Heidelberg Speedmasters. The 10, 8 and 6 colour models print 10 colour litho, perfecting up to 5/5. They process a range of substrates – from lightweight paper to board on a maximum sheet size 520 x 740mm.
The Xerox Nuvera EA Series 3 and the Xerox iGen4 110 are our mono and colour variable printing solution. Both produce exceptional digital print on a variety of pulp based substrates and approved speciality materials. Printing on a maximum sheet size 364 x 660mm, 80 to 350gsm.
We use the Roland XC-540 Solojet Pro 111 and Epson Surecolor S30600 for large format printing. These digital machines print continuous full colour on a maximum reel width 1500mm and produce high quality print on PVC, mesh, vinyl, paper and canvas.
We have a large variety of print finishing services in-house, which allows us to co-ordinate and finish the printed copy ourselves. It gives us peace of mind knowing we have complete control of quality, scheduling, packing and dispatch.
Central to our business are our people who are committed to providing a professional and friendly service.
